Comfortable Bell Pepper Soup

Wikipedia describes comfort food like this: "traditionally eaten food which often provides a nostalgic or sentimental feeling to the person eating it, or simply provides the consumer a familiar meal, soft in consistency, and rich in calories, nutrients, or both"

For me the ultimate comfort food is soup.
I don't really like raw bell peppers, however the cooking somehow changes and softens the flavour and makes this soup a total winner.

To serve four you'll need:

8 big bell peppers (4 red, 4 orange or yellow)
1 onion, chopped
600ml vegetable stock (2 tablespoons when instant)
200ml water
150ml olive oil
100g cream
salt n pepper

Pre heat your oven to 200 C
You want to put your peppers into it on an oiled plate and wait until the skin has popped open.

When they have cooled down a little peel off the skin and cut into pieces.

You also need to chop your onion

Put your peppers, the onion, the oil, the water and the vegetable stock into your blender and blend until smooth. You can always use a hand blender and do it directly in the pot if you have one.

Pour the soup into a pot and heat gently.
Put in your cream grab your salt n pepper and spice your soup the way you like it.

When you're done put your soup into a big bowl, sit yourself in front of the TV, tuck yourself into a soft blanket and watch your favourite season of Entourage or recently Brooklyn Nine-Nine [anyone else obsessed with Andy Samberg?].
That is an order.

Café Paris

There is this little French café/bistro in downtown Hamburg right off the town hall square that really makes you feel like you're in Paris rather than in Germany.

My family visited me for my birthday last weekend and I invited them for a little breakfast.

After having diminished 3! croissants I figured we'd better leave and I took my family for a little tour around the beautiful town hall of Hamburg.

After we all decided it was enough culture for one day we went shopping. Naturally...

In the blink of an eye

Can you believe it´s December already?
I feel like the year has gone in an instant and so much has happened in my life that now it´s all like a big blur of seconds rather than months.

Anyway I am madly exited because it´s almost Christmas. My favourite time of the year.
Oh and I am seriously considering to order the Michael Bublé Christmas album (isn´t he like the best person in the world?!)

Like my father,  I have always been a winter person. Snow, early nightfall and warm clothes.

I don´t think there has been a year when I did not go skiing and I would pick that over a summer holiday any time. Call me mad.

Next week I am going on holiday from work and I am so happy to spend Christmas at home with my family.

Last night I went for coktails with a good friend of mine.

I couldn't keep myself from buying some decor stuff for my new flat. Even if I am not actually gonna be there for Christmas Eve.

On Monday I went to the Blue concert in Hamburg and it was amazing.
Although normally this is not my kind of music I do secretly fancy bands like Blue or the Backstreet Boys or Take That or One Direction or....

Last weeks lunch: baked goat cheese with grilled eggplant and rocket.

The city is scrubbing up for Christmas time. Believe me I have never seen so many fairy lights in all my life.

But isn't she a beauty?

Autumn Equinox

It is getting cold here in Germany. And I am beyond excited. Fall and Winter are my favourite seasons. Wearing boots, cozy knitwear and big scarves.
So when the first autumn pieces are hanging on the racks I am chasing into the shops.

Have you been to Zara lately?
Well I was and was truly blown away by their collection. I'couldve bought everything.

Here is what I bought for my fall wardrobe.

In other stories:

I have received a Wok from my aunt as a housewarming gift and tried it yesterday. I  just threw in what i had in the freezer and was actually surprised how tasty this turned out.

We have a great Nespresso machine in the office so this is me pretending to be be as cool as George Clooney while drinking coffee.

Since I am living in a big city the distances I have to walk have gotten quite larger than at home. I don´t think I have worn any other shoes than my Nike Frees the last few weeks. I don´t really mind.

Have you ever tried coconut water before? I think I am slowly becoming addicted to this.

Have a great week :)

The Big Move

I have finally moved into my first own apartment.

Moving out of my parents house was harder than I thought. I was never someone who struggled with home sickness but rather wanderlust and never had any problems being far away from home.

This time however, it is totally different, I guess that´s because I am actually moving out for good.

The whole process of it however is very exciting. Buying new furniture, planning how to organize everything and packing up your things (yes, even that is exciting to me).

It happened on sunday.

We packed up two cars, one with all of the Ikea packages and the other with all of my other things like clothing and personal items.

It was a ridiculously weird feeling driving away from home even if I know that obviously I am coming back even if it is just for the weekend.

Luckily, I was granted to leave work for 2 days because of the move so I am able to settle in correctly.

Have a great evening :)

The End...

...is within sight.

As I have already mentioned I am moving. Fortunately it will finally happen this weekend.
I started my new job at the beginning of August and now I can eventually move out of the hotel and into my own little space. I am thrilled!!!

That also means I will finally have time and space to blog which I am really looking forward too.

Whish that I could stay forever this young...

I don't think I have ever had so many things going on in my life like right now.

I have started a new job in a new city, I am in the process of moving out of my parents house but still live in a hotel at the moment and I am trying to stay calm despite all that.
I know that a lot of people have done all this before but I have never taken such a huge step in my life.

So whilst I am trying so organise everything while having no proper internet access let alone my laptop, today´s post will just be a quick one, showing you some photos that I have taken with my phone (which is the only technological gadget I have with me momentarily).

My favourite flowers from my mothers garden.

This is what you get when you drink cocktails at Happy Hour.
The only bad thing is - everyone can see how many cocktails you have had.

This is from my holiday in spain. It was even more beautiful than this picture shows.

My favourite greek takeaway - called saganaki.

I recently made a trip to Stockholm with a good friend of mine - my parents' present for my graduation.

I love olives, I love basil, I love pizza. That's all.

Have a great sunday :)
